Human Rights Advocate & Organizational Leader

Subashana S. Subawickrama is a Sri Lankan human-rights advocate and organizational leader. He is identified as the founder and chairman of the International Human Rights Organization – Sri Lanka (IHRO Sri Lanka).

His activities have included human-rights advocacy, migrant-worker welfare, human-rights education, humanitarian initiatives and community engagement.

Through his work, he has been associated with awareness programs, community activities and international initiatives focused on human dignity, equality and social justice.

Advocacy for Sri Lankan Migrant Workers

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Subashana S. Subawickrama was identified by contemporary reporting as the General Secretary of the Organisation of Protecting Sri Lankan Expatriates Rights.

He spoke publicly about Sri Lankan migrant workers stranded in Kuwait and efforts to collect information about workers requiring assistance.
